History:

Findings:
The abdominal serosal detail is retained.
The gastric axis is cranial in location which is indicative for a small liver.
The spleen is normal in size and both renal silhouettes are appropriate for size and opacity. The stomach is gas filled. Two linear metallic wires are seen in the small bowel. These wires are associated with loops of bowel that contain ganular material and are overdistended. One loop measures 3 x the height of a vertebral body. This granular appearing intestinal content is also seen in the duodenum. The urinary bladder is mildly distended. The colon contains feces
Diagnosis:
intestinal foreign bodies with evidence of an obstructive intestinal pattern. The dog was operated and a linear foreign body was removed.
Discussion:
Granular material outside the stomach and colon is abnormal. In the presented case it is coupled with dilated loops of bowel and metallic foreign body ,and indicates obstruction .
Normally the width of a small intestinal loop should not exceed the hight of a vertebral body or 3 times the width of the 13th rib.

This is one of the many great cases on your site! There is an
excellent example of plication that is typical of linear foreign body on the
lateral projection. Both the loops between the metallic foreign bodies, and the
loop cranial to the bladder show this pattern
